Joy Zimmerman, a soulful singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, is known for compelling vocals, inventive songwriting and engaging performances. Her music is shaped by diverse musical taste, violin lessons starting before kindergarten, and plenty of life's sweet and bitter moments. Joy's lyrics reflect a deep understanding of human experience, and her music is genre-bending and chock-full of vocal and instrumental versatility.

Joy has five albums of original music -- two recorded and co-produced with Jimmy Dykes in Kansas City at Weights and Measures Soundlab, and three recorded in Nashville at Azalea Studios. Joy's songwriting awards include American Songwriter Lyric Contest Honorable Mention and five Walnut Valley Festival New Song Showcase wins.

Hooked by the Beatles on The Ed Sullivan Show when he was eight, Jimmy Dykes was performing professionally by the age  of ten and was most notably playing with the local and regional act Solar Eclipse whose penchant was soul funk and  R&B. While not limited to any genre, blues, soul funk, R&B, and jazz have always been home.

Jimmy has played in many bands over the years: JT Cook, SDI (strategic dance initiative), Baby Leroy, Blue Riddim band,  Hot House, Thirsty and the Water Boys and has performed with many major artists, including Dr John Shadow, Isaac Hays,  Mike Finnigan, Rufas Tomas, Percy Sledge, and toured internationally with Oleta Adams for 17 years.

Kansas City favorites Joy Zimmerman and Jimmy Dykes join forces for an eclectic array of Joy's original songs and classic cover tunes. Joy and Jimmy's dynamic instrumentals and vocal harmonies create acoustic electricity.
