Joy Zimmerman
began playing violin the summer before she began walking to kindergarten.
Many miles and decades of classical music later, Joy picked up a
guitar, found her own voice, and started reinventing herself.
During this
metamorphosis, she discovered a talent for songwriting. This newfound
passion combines a lifetime of studying relationships and connections
with her love of music--encompassing driving rock, lyrical ballads,
stirring classical pieces, and pounding dance rhythms.
Joy's songs
are infused with emotion and keen observations based on life experiences,
from the zookeeper of her youth to motherhood of today, from symphony
member to band member, from grief counselor to social worker.
Joy also performs with On The Record, Cindy Egger, and at Saint
Andrew Christian Church, Olathe, Kansas.
